Can You Pause or Change a Service Once It Has StartedUpdated 7 days ago
Yes. If something important changes after a service has started, I adjust the work to reflect that.
Businesses change while work is in progress. A product pivot. A rebrand decision. A shift in target audience. A new piece of information that changes the direction. When that happens, pausing and realigning is the right move — not pushing through with a direction that no longer fits.
Here is how I handle mid-service changes:
- We schedule a clarity call to understand what has changed
- I assess the impact on the current work honestly
- The work adjusts to reflect the new direction
- Any completed work that still applies carries forward
What I will never do is carry on without acknowledging a change that matters. That would mean handing over something built on a brief that no longer reflects your situation — and that is not useful to anyone.
The only honest exception is if the change makes it an entirely different service. In that case I will tell you directly and we will figure out together what makes the most sense going forward.
