How Are Affiliate Payouts Calculated and Sent AutomaticallyUpdated 5 days ago

Affiliate payouts are calculated and distributed automatically — meaning the founder does not need to manually calculate what each affiliate earned, create invoices or transfer payments individually.

Here is how the automated payout process works after setup:

Sale attribution — when a buyer purchases using an affiliate's tracking link, the sale is recorded against that affiliate's account with the full order value and applicable commission rate.

Commission calculation — the commission is calculated automatically as the configured percentage of the qualifying order value. Excluded products, minimum order rules and tiered rates are all applied before the commission is finalized.

Payout threshold monitoring:

  • The system tracks each affiliate's accumulated unpaid balance continuously
  • When the balance reaches the minimum payout threshold, the affiliate becomes eligible for the next scheduled payout
  • Affiliates below the threshold continue accumulating until it is met

Payout schedule — payouts are processed on a defined schedule for all affiliates who reached the threshold. Payment goes to the method on file.

Return and refund handling — if an order that generated a commission is later refunded, the commission is reversed automatically before any payout is processed.

The entire cycle — attribution, calculation, monitoring and payment — runs without any manual input from the founder.
