How Do Payment Methods Get Configured for My CustomersUpdated 6 days ago
Accepting payment is the most fundamental function of any Shopify store. If the payment experience is broken, slow or confusing, buyers abandon at the last step — the most expensive place in the entire purchase journey to lose them.
I configure payment methods during the store setup based on your market and your buyers.
What the payment configuration covers:
- Connecting your payment gateway to Shopify and verifying the connection works end to end
- Enabling every payment method relevant to your buyers — including UPI, cards and net banking for Indian buyers and international card payments for global buyers
- Setting up accelerated checkout options that reduce the number of steps between intent and completed order
- Running a test transaction through the full checkout before the store goes live
One thing I am always honest about. Payment gateway account approvals are handled by the provider, not by me. I configure everything on the Shopify side and test it fully — but if the provider requires additional verification from you, that process runs on their timeline and is outside my control.
Everything on my side gets verified before handover so no buyer encounters a broken payment step on their first visit to your store.
