What Carousel Post Formats Work Best for D2C BrandsUpdated 6 days ago
Different carousel formats serve different purposes. The format gets chosen based on what the viewer should know, feel or do after swiping through all the slides.
The five formats I create most frequently for D2C brands:
Educational step-by-step — walks the viewer through a process, routine or how-to in sequence. Each slide covers one step. Works best for products where usage context unfolds in a natural order and where showing the process builds trust in the result.
Product showcase — presents different variants, use cases or angles of one product across the slides. Effective for launches or for products where a single image does not communicate the full range of what is available.
Before and after collection — a series of transformations across multiple slides. More persuasive than a single before and after because the pattern of evidence compounds as the viewer swipes through.
Common mistakes or myths:
- Addresses 5 to 8 misconceptions in the product category
- Each slide covers one mistake with a brief correction
- Generates high saves and shares because it feels genuinely educational
Social proof collection — presents multiple testimonials or customer results across the slides. More convincing than a single review because multiple independent voices build significantly more trust than one alone.
The format for each carousel gets confirmed on the discovery call based on the objective and where the buyer is in their journey.
