What Happens If My Product Does Not Show Real DemandUpdated 8 days ago
If the validation research does not show clear demand for your product, I will tell you directly. This is one of the most valuable things the service can do — even if it is not what you were hoping to hear.
Weak demand signals do not always mean the product idea is wrong. They sometimes mean the positioning is off, the target audience is too narrow or the market exists but has not been found in the right places yet.
When validation does not show strong demand here is what I do:
- I explain specifically what the research shows and what it does not
- I identify whether the issue is the product, the positioning or the audience
- I give you an honest recommendation — adjust the product, reposition it or reconsider before building
The goal is never to discourage a founder. It is to protect your investment and your time. Building a Shopify store and running ads against a product with weak validated demand is one of the most common and most expensive mistakes early founders make.
Knowing before you build is significantly better than discovering after three months and a large amount of wasted spend. That honesty is something I will never compromise on.
