A product page FAQ is a set of specific questions and answers placed on the product page below the main description. It is one of the most underused conversion tools in ecommerce and one of the most consistently effective.

Most buyers have questions before they are ready to purchase. If they cannot find answers quickly they leave — not because they decided against buying but because the uncertainty became too uncomfortable to ignore.

The FAQ resolves that before it becomes a reason to exit. A well-written product FAQ covers:

  • Compatibility, sizing or technical questions specific to that product
  • Delivery time and shipping conditions relevant to the buyer's market
  • Return and exchange conditions in plain language
  • Usage or care instructions where they affect buying confidence
  • The one or two questions that come up most often in customer support for that specific product

Each question answered on the page is one less reason to leave and one less support message to respond to. The FAQ increases conversion while simultaneously reducing support volume — because buyers who find clear answers do not need to ask them elsewhere. That double benefit compounds across every product the FAQ is applied to.
