What Is the Snap Pixel and How Does It Track My SalesUpdated 7 days ago

The Snap Pixel is the conversion tracking code installed on the Shopify store that records what visitors do after clicking a Snapchat ad — capturing page views, add to cart events and purchases and sending that data back to the Snapchat Ads account.

Without the Snap Pixel correctly configured, Snapchat campaigns cannot optimize toward purchases, cannot build retargeting audiences and cannot accurately attribute sales to the campaigns that drove them.

What the Snap Pixel enables after installation:

Conversion tracking — every completed purchase originating from a Snapchat ad click is attributed to the specific campaign and creative that drove it. This is the primary event the campaigns optimize toward.

Retargeting audiences built from real behavior:

  • Website visitors from the last 30, 60 and 90 days
  • Product page viewers who did not add to cart
  • Add to cart visitors who did not complete the purchase

Algorithm optimization — purchase data fed back to Snapchat's delivery algorithm allows it to learn which users convert and optimize delivery toward similar people over time.

Dynamic Product Ads — the Snap Pixel working alongside the product catalog automatically shows retargeted visitors the specific product they viewed on the store.

I install the Snap Pixel and configure all standard ecommerce events as part of the service — verifying each fires correctly before any campaign goes live.
