What to Do If Your Business Goals Shift Mid-ServiceUpdated 2 months ago
If your business goals shift during a service, tell me as soon as you realise it. Early is always better than late — in every direction.
Goals shift for real reasons. A product pivot. A new audience discovered through early sales data. A decision to go in a different direction after a conversation with a real customer. These are not signs of indecision — they are signs of a founder learning and adapting in real time. I understand and respect that completely.
What happens when goals shift mid-service:
- We schedule a clarity call to understand what has changed and why
- I assess what has been done so far and what still applies to the new direction
- We agree on the adjusted direction together before I continue
- Work that remains gets rebuilt to reflect the new goal properly
The only situation that becomes genuinely complicated is a shift so significant that it changes the entire nature of the service. In that case I will be honest with you about whether continuing the current service or starting a new one makes more sense for where you are now.
What I will never do is keep building in a direction I know no longer serves you just to avoid the conversation. The goal is always your consistent and sustainable sales — and that only gets served by work that fits your real situation.
